Epirus Systems, a forward thinking drone building company has expanded to a 100,000 SF R&D facility in Torrance, California.

Founded in 2018, Epirus Systems, a venture backed start up —High Technology U.S. Govt defense contractor developing anti-drone technology. Epirus has garnered impressive attention in part to its highly successful drone defense technologies. Since its inception, Zacuto Group has guided the company through its office growth stages, starting with its first 4,000 SF space in El Segundo, followed by a second, larger facility in Hawthorne, and now its biggest and boldest move; a 100k square foot state of the art HQ further blah blah R&D, high-tech manufacturing .

Extensive process to identify options: ZG is an expert at representing high tech manufacturing companies. Requirements are more complex than traditional manufacturing (much higher specifications and need for clean modern property). We found the perfect fit of a Landlord in IDIL who was under renovation to upgrade the former HQ of Alpine Stereo into distribution facility. The modern industrial property had an over-market ratio of office square footage v. warehouse, however this combination worked well for our client given their need to house an extensive R&D and engineering team in addition to requiring warehouse for manufacturing.

The landlord was engaged in a substantial remodel of the building. ZG and Epirus engaged mid-process and negotiated with the owner to customize the property to Epirus’ needs. Epirus had several customized requirements- power upgrades, customization of the warehouse to facilitate manufucturing of their product, upgraded lighting, security to comply with government guidelines.
